Network security incident notice

The computer servers of the South China Athletic Association were subject to unauthorized third-party intrusion on 17 March 2024. We deeply regret this incident and have taken immediate measures by shutting down the affected computer equipment to maximize the protection of our members’ personal data (including name, birth date, HKID no, correspondence address). We have also reported the incident to the Hong Kong Police Force, and notified the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.

South China Athletic Association strongly condemns any form of cybercrime and fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies. There is currently no evidence to suggest that any personal data have been leaked into public domain.

South China Athletic Association deeply regrets and apologizes for this cyberattack incident. We will make every effort to prevent such incident from recurring. We have taken immediate action to collaborate with professional internet security teams to conduct a comprehensive servers inspection and repair.

To safeguard the interest of the affected members, South China Athletic Association has activated an emergency plan and will notify any affected members. We recommend our members to remain vigilant against any abuse, misuse, or malicious/unlawful use of personal data and contact South China Athletic Association at the designated email address ([email protected]) for enquiries.

We will provide updates and further information to our members continuouslythrough our official website and other channels.

Once again, South China Athletic Association sincerely apologizes to the affectedmembers. We will spare no effort to strengthen our cybersecurity to ensure our members’ personal data safely protected and restore their trust in us.
