SCAA basketball team scripted a true “Cinderella” fairy tale at the Arena Larkin Indoor Stadium in Malaysia, defeating Taiwan’s powerhouse Taoyuan Pauian Pilots 113-103 in the BCL Asia-East final to capture a historic championship title.
SCAA’s journey to the crown was a thrilling rollercoaster. Following a narrow, heart-stopping two-point victory in Mongolia during their regular-season finale to stay alive, SCAA went on an unstoppable tear in the “Final 6” tournament in Malaysia, stringing together four consecutive victories to storm into the final and claim the ultimate prize.
The final showdown was a high-scoring, high-stakes offensive showcase. SCAA found their rhythm early on, but the true turning point came in the third quarter. SCAA exploded for a massive 33-point surge in the period, breaking open a double-digit lead and effectively securing the victory.
A massive catalyst for SCAA’s sudden ascent was newly acquired import Isaiah Briscoe, who proved to be the ultimate missing piece for the championship puzzle. Throughout the series, his lethal perimeter shooting and elite shot-creation spaced the floor perfectly, drawing heavy defensive double-teams that completely unlocked SCAA’s trademark transition counter-attacks.
